Vernaize Coleman

Vernaize Coleman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. She completed her studies at the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in social science and a Masters degree from Texas Southern University in educational counseling. Vernaize was born and raised in New York City, completed her college education in Texas and moved back to New York. Since 2015, she has worked in a variety of clinical and therapeutic settings, including SRO’s, transitional services, substance abuse, trauma and behavior modification.

Vernaize utilizes such therapy modalities as person-centered approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma and solution focused therapy. Additionally, Vernaize has experience working with children, adolescents, teens, adults and the LGBTQ community. In doing so, she has provided counseling treating clients with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship problems, low self-esteem, anger management, parent-child relationships and a plethora of other transitional life challenges. As a therapist, Vernaize creates a safe place of compassion, genuineness, positive regard and support for any and all clients to assist in healing, recovery, and long-term emotional, cognitive and behavioral changes.
