Thomas Rigg, Ph.D. earned his doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Iowa. He completed his doctoral internship at George Mason University’s Counseling and Psychological Services in Fairfax, Virginia. He is currently completing his postdoctoral work at SR Psychological Services and is licensed to practice under supervision in New York State.
Dr. Rigg has four years of clinical experience providing mental health services to college students and adults. He has worked in a variety of treatment settings including university counseling centers and community mental health programs with groups and individuals with diverse backgrounds and identities. His approach to treatment is primarily person-centered, and also integrates ACT, CBT, and solution-focused techniques. He approaches therapy as a space to collaborate with and empower clients to identify their strengths and explore their agency for change.
