Luz A. Sánchez earned her Master of Science Degree in Education and
Mental Health Counseling, with a Certificate of Advanced Studies
in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University in New York. Ms. Sánchez is currently working under a mental health counselor limited permit.
Ms. Sanchez has experience working in various clinical settings including private practice, nonprofits and supportive housing programs. She has treated patients suffering from a range of clinical issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, relationship problems, work and career challenges, etc. Ms. Sanchez uses an eclectic approach to clinical care when working with patients including cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy and supportive psychotherapy. Ms. Sanchez also has a great deal of experience working as a health educator developing workshops and curriculum with topics related to caring for loved ones with health problems, workplace violence, stress management, anger control and recognizing and seeking help for mental health problems. Her diverse clinical experience such as working with survivors of intimate partner violence has taught her a great deal about human suffering and the importance of helping patients to navigate life in a way that keeps them safe, is healthy and keeps them on the course of not just surviving but also thriving. Her deep passion for helping others drives her desire and determination for continued education, learning and growth as a counselor and psychotherapist. Ms. Sanchez is committed to providing evidenced based treatment and excellent care to her patients.
