Richard Miller, Psy.D.
Richard Miller, Psy.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in New York State. He earned his doctoral degree from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Washington, D.C. He completed his doctoral internship at the BASIC Group Practice. Dr. Miller holds a Master of Art degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.
Dr. Miller has experience treating adults, children, families and couples. He has assisted patients struggling with PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship problems and career dissatisfaction. He has worked in diverse clinical settings including inpatient unit in psychiatric hospital, university counseling center, community mental health center, charter school and private practice. His approach to treatment is integrative, utilizing various evidenced based interventions rooted in cognitive behavioral, solution focused, psychodynamic, dialectical behavioral and family systems theories. He has also successfully treated patients using mindfulness meditation practices.
Dr. Miller will provide a safe and supportive environment for patients to openly express themselves. He can help alleviate patient’s symptoms while exploring the root cause of the psychological distress. He believes in the importance of cultural sensitivity in therapeutic work and treatment of patients holistically. He is honored to join with patients on their journey to achieve health, happiness and mental stability.
