Michael Arnold, LMHC

Michael J. Arnold is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. He earned his Master’s Degree from Fordham University and also completed complicated grief training at Columbia University, both in New York City.

Michael has extensive clinical experience working in the area of PTSD and trauma. He has worked in various treatment settings including hospitals, nursing care facilities and hospice. He currently is part of a trauma team that heads out to national and local crisis events. Michael recognizes that every person will experience profound loss at some point in their life, whether it is the death of a loved one, a breakup or divorce, illness, losing a job, the loss of a pet, financial loss, a loss of trust, or the loss of faith. Michael works with his patients to guide them through the process of facing this loss in a gentle way, instead of avoiding it, helping to resolve the strong emotions of grief, anxiety and depression that can follow.

In addition to his vast experience dealing with loss, Michael is also well-versed in the therapeutic tools that can help relieve suffering, focusing on the integrative approach to therapy as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and a psychodynamic orientation. These tools are all tailored to the individual’s nature and the challenges that they are facing. Michael’s calming nature can help guide individuals through some of life’s most difficult times.
