Ms. Emily Villeneuve is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She obtained her graduate degree from Baruch College- City University of New York. She completed her graduate internship at Daytop Village outpatient treatment program. In addition, Ms. Villeneuve has completed professional training on best practices for trauma focused treatment.
Ms. Villeneuve has worked at a variety of professional settings for the past several years, including both outpatient and inpatient substance abuse treatment programs. She has worked with people experiencing addiction, mental health problems, trauma, grief & loss, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, life transitions, and career stress. She has experience treating individuals with diverse backgrounds and demographics. Ms. Villeneuve enjoys working individually with patients, as well as in group therapy.
Ms. Villeneuve believes that psychotherapy is an integral part of a person’s ability to overcome a significant obstacle in their lives and to facilitate change. She uses an individualized approach, believes in empowerment and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. She considers her theoretical orientation integrative and uses evidence based techniques from CBT, interpersonal, and psychodynamic models.
